Spirit Animals

Trevor Brady, a strong honest man, by all accounts, except for a brief period in his life when he chose pirating on the Caribbean Sea.  He realized he wasn’t cut out for the raping, killing, and pillaging required by his captain, James Hardy.

Hardy lived his life on the theory that no man deserved to be happy, thriving, or godly. He treated his victims with disdain and used them as pawns for his pleasure. One night Trevor rescued a cerulean eyed girl from the clutches of his captain. When Hardy realized the girl had been removed from the ship and that one of his crew was responsible, his anger and hatred blinded him into making decisions that caused the ship to sink.

Everyone on board lost their lives to the sea, except Brady and Hardy. Trevor was approached by supernatural beings, who gave him a choice to save his soul by becoming a guardian angel. His spirit animal became a Jaguar, for its cunning, stealth abilities, and beauty. Hardy was also recruited, but by evil. He was sent back to perpetrate his hate upon the citizenry. His spirit animal became a hyena for its selfishness, waste, and viciousness.

Each man intent on fulfilling their new destinies would spend the next two hundred and fifty years fighting with each other.
