It was the last thing she wanted to hear; the buzzing of the gas powered saw. The City truck was parked in front of her house. The home where she’d raised her family. They were after her favorite tree, the one she’d planted when her husband became ill and the same one she’d spread his ashes around after he died. 

The developer had fought her over the land, for the last two years. He wanted it to build a high-rise condo. They’d offered to give her a three bedroom on the front of the building if she sold to them. She said ‘no’ and the judge agreed, but the developer didn’t stop there…
