TC sulked through the front door and sat on the sofa. Marg
stared after him, bewildered. “So, what’s up?” she said cheerfully. He didn’t
say anything and continued to slouch, fiddling with his cuticles. She watched.
He raised a finger to his mouth and bit a loosened piece of skin.
“Ouch,” he muttered, examining the digit. She sat beside him
and pulled his hand toward her.
“You’ll be fine,” she snipped, dropping his hand. They sat
together in silence. “What is it? Just tell me!”
TC inhaled and held his breath, glancing up into her eyes.
He exhaled, stood and headed for the door.
“Stop! You tell me right now what’s
on your mind. We’re getting married tomorrow,” she spat.
“You aren’t going to like it!”
“I don’t like this,” she said, tapping her foot.
“I don’t know where to start,” TC groaned.
“Try the beginning!”
“Umm, I’m not from around here…” he stuttered. Marg sat
quietly. “Yeah, see that star,” he pointed out the window. She followed his
finger in the direction of the darkened sky. “It’s a planet, but that’s not
all.”
She stared at him blankly. “I’m companioned with a woman
there,” he half whispered. She stood, tears welling up in her eyes.
“Is that all?” she barked.
“I have to leave tomorrow and go back, she is in having our…”
he stammered. Marg slapped his face with all the force she could muster,
turned, and ran up the stairs. After a while she heard the front door close,
gently.

I enjoyed reading this book. Just enough of everything...romance, suspense, excitement. The storyline kept me entertained that it was a fast read for me...I did not want to put it down. The only disappointing thing about the book that I can honestly say is...that it ended!
I look forward to reading more of TD Cooper 's books in the future & so hope there is a sequel to this enchanting book.
