Weirdest Face

Trevor, a ghostly guardian, stood guard over the Carter’s home protecting it and the police as they waited for Ralphie and his band of child kidnappers. The night waned to the early morning hours before they showed up. Ralphie headed upstairs to Kate’s bedroom. Trevor followed, invisible. Unbeknownst to Ralphie a female officer laid in wait, ready to arrest him when he came into Kate’s bedroom.

A scuffle ensued and Ralphie broke free. Trevor flashed a visible face of horror as Ralphie raced down the hall.  He froze in abstract fear. Giving the female officer the upper hand. She handcuffed him and led him down the stairs. 

“Diiiid yooou seeee thaaat faaace in the haaall?!!” Ralphie stammered barely able to speak.

“What face?” the officer smirked. “Mine?! It should have scared you. Trying to steal little girls in the middle of the night, right out of their beds. You disgust me!”

“Nooo, it waaas ghostly whiiiite, haad fangs, and bloood reeeed eyes!”

“Hahahahah! You on drugs or something?” the officer laughed, pushing Ralphie out the door and into the patrol car. 

Trevor stifled a chuckle, staying invisible. He followed the police out of Kate’s house, deciding it would be advantageous to accompany them to the station in case Ralphie needed a reminder to confess.

Trevor is fighting to end the years of taunting by the captain and for a love that he has coveted since the day he danced with the young island girl on the beach.

I enjoyed reading this book. Just enough of everything...romance, suspense, excitement. The storyline kept me entertained that it was a fast read for me...I did not want to put it down. The only disappointing thing about the book that I can honestly say is...that it ended!

I look forward to reading more of TD Cooper’s books in the future & so hope there is a sequel to this enchanting book.

Wonderful story. When I first started it, I thought, oh no, not my type of reading, but it grabbed me from the start and I couldn't wait to keep reading. Can't wait for another book from this great author.

This book has everything I wanted from a fun piece of fiction- love, loss, religion, existential questions, and pirates. It was very entertaining to read and think about afterwards. Well done, Ms. Cooper!
