“OMG, Sandy, how can you think about going out tonight? You’ve been through the ringer today,” Jacob said, indignantly.

“I’m alright! This cancer is not going to beat me, besides the doctor said I was clear. I want to celebrate,” Sandy shrugged.

“I think you ought to stay home and rest.”

“Listen, I want to live and I want to live today. I’m tired and a little nauseous, but I’ve wanted to see this movie for a long time and I’m going with the girls,” she insisted.

“Okay, I get it. Promise me if you get too tired, you’ll call and I’ll come and get you.”

“I’ll do better than that. If you’ll stop fretting I’ll start working on my campaign speech,” she winked.

“Have you decided to run for office after all you’ve been through? Surgery, implants, chemo, and losing your hair?”

“I’m considering it seriously. I’ll know more in the next month, but I figure if I can survive this then I would be a heck of a Mayor.”

“Well, you sure have inspired me to charge after my dreams! Especially the ones I never thought were reachable.”

“I’ve always said, ‘If you are willing to work hard and not give up, you can achieve anything’.”

“And woman, I believe you can do it!”
