Amy charged through the endless waves trickling up the beach, along the California coast. This January was particularly gloomy with the fog hanging thick in the air. Instinctively she wrapped her arms, covered in sweatshirt, tightly around her chest. Her little, seven year old toes burned from the wet, but she felt nothing.

Instinctively she wrapped her arms, covered in sweatshirt, tightly around her chest. Her little, seven year old toes burned from the wet, but she felt nothing.
"Mommie, I miss you. When are you coming home?" she whispered to the heavens.
Amy picked up another pretty rock and shoved it in her already weighted pocket. They were filled to the brim, allowing one to fall and bounced off her foot. "Ouch!" she whined.
An image of a heart appeared in the sand, before her. She hesitated, looking up and down an empty beach, then took her rocks and filled in the lines. "Mommie, thank you. This is for you. I love and miss you. If God doesn't need you anymore maybe he will let you come home."
