Trevor Brady, a pirate in the 1700's, grows weary of his Captain's mistreatment of young women. He decides after a long and arduous voyage that he isn't going to watch him destroy another female. Trevor waits to be swept up and sent to the dungeons of the earth, but instead he is offered a second chance to redeem his soul. During his redemption he becomes a ghostly guardian. He is to protect the innocent.
As he builds a life to appear human, he meets a young woman, Kathryn. She reminds him of Katrina, his young love who was murdered. He is smitten and believes Kathryn carries Katrina's soul. During this same time, Captain James Hardy is discovered to have also returned from the dead as an evil ghost. Trevor learns that Hardy is the cause of all his failures.
For the next two hundred and fifty years Hardy stalks and haunts Trevor.
It is the 1960’s, Trevor believes he has finally out run Hardy and begins a new life in the Bay Area, when he meets Kate Carter. He recognizes that she, also, is the reincarnation of Katrina and believes they can finally make a life together.
Trevor and his guardian friends wend up on the high seas in an action packed conflict, rescuing Kate and seven other girls from Captain Hardy and his crew of kidnappers. In the end, Trevor is faced with a decision that only true love can answer.
