“Dad come quickly! Is that it, our island? It doesn’t look very big!” Marty gushed as the plane flew in closer.

“Honey, it’s not very big! What happens in a storm, will we be covered up?” his wife spoke softly.

“No look we are flying over a bed of fog that has to be the top,” he assured her.

The plane got closer and closer and finally began the descent under the fog. They couldn’t see anything but gray/white mist, hugging them like a winter coat. “I’m going to circle around to the other side. There is supposed to be a small cove that we can land in,” Sam, the pilot explained.

“Look daddy over there is a waterfall and that looks like a sand beach,” Marty giggled, standing up in her seat.

“Yes, sweetheart, now sit down and tighten that seatbelt. It looks beautiful, mother. I’m so grateful the man gave us this island for a measly five dollars. Can you imagine it?” he grinned back over his shoulder at his wife, who was strapped into a wheelchair and as pale as the white sand beaches. “It’s will be rough until we get the cottage built, but I know the water here is going to heal you. And don’t forget about Sam. He’s going to be here to help us…”
