Outlines?

Daily Writing Prompt

Outlines?
I disagree that an outline allows you to be more creative. I find them stifling. Following an outline from point to point bottles up the free flowing adventure of the story for me. I live my stories, seeing each step and breath that my characters take in their journey. Outlines are too planed and don’t allow for the protagonist to fly by the seat of his/her pants while seeking his solutions.

So, I don’t use an outline.  I sometimes jot down chapter titles and write each chapter, adding some and removing others, but for the most part I write a beginning, build to the climax, and finish it off. When I have the story out of my head and on paper I go back and fill in the missing pieces.

I don’t believe there is a correct way to write a story. Whatever works for the writer is how they should tell their story. I do know if I had to make outlines, my stories would get lost in the monotony of the structure.

2ND CHANCES: A BOOK OF CHOICES by TD Cooper

Imagine a two hundred and fifty year love affair with a guardian angel and the reincarnated soul of his soulmate.
Trevor Brady drowned while pirating on the Caribbean in the 1700’s and was given a chance to redeem his soul. He begins life anew, as a guardian of human beings. Trevor also finds himself in love with what may be the reincarnation of his childhood sweetheart, who was murdered by Trevor’s former ship captain. To make things worse, it looks like the ship’s captain has returned from the grave, bent on taking his revenge on Trevor and all whom he loves. They all collide in the world of kidnapping, drugs, and slavery.
